So this Monday I am getting my tonsils removed and I am dreading it. It is not for the normal reasons. In fact, I rarely ever get sick, never get a cold and haven't had the flu in over 10 years. It's because my tonsils and adenoids are huge causing a mild sleep apnea and oxygen deprivation. The Rheumatologist and ENT believe that long term, taking my tonsils out will help me sleep better and therefore be in less pain. I am all for that long term benefet but am scared of the short term pain. For a normal person the pain, even while on heavy meds, is severe. My concern lies in the fact my nerves hate me and have become oh so much more active on the pain front. I am already half miserable because I cannot take my daily mobic for pain relief (to prevent bleeding during the surgery).
Has anyone else had there tonsils out as an adult already suffering from Fibro? Did your Fibro make recovery worse? Any advice on how to deal is much appreciated :)
a friend of mine had tonsils out as an adult and i know she was taking some opiods for the pain and had plenty of cold ice cream and ice pops on hand. i send you all the best and lots of HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGS
I will be praying for you and will not stop until you let us know you are doing ok. Battery how long.
So please as soon as you feel up to it let us know how you are.
Thank you and I wish you the best.

Thank you for your prayers. I will keep you all updated on my recovery progress. The well wishes lighten my heart.
Day 3 -
The surgery went great, I had an amazing surgeon, but the pain is horrible. I started out on liquid viccodine now im on Oxycodone. The most pain comes from the nerves that run from your tonsils to your inner ears. Since my nerves already hate me, this pain is very bad, The rest of my body is aching as well. My throat, tongue, jaw ect are all swollen. The pain is bad enough where it is hard to type. I will keep y'all updated as i can. Thanks for your well wishes
