I’m just wondering if anyone has tried this treatment? I’m sick of being in pain. I’d really like to feel like I get some rest when I sleep and sleeping longer than 30 to 90 minutes at a time and not be in extreme pain! I can’t remember what that feels like anymore.
Enough of my rant. Sorry, just I’m so frustrated with FMS and how it interferes with my personal and professional lives. I found one of these centers in my state and this morning my husband and I drove 3hr to have a free consultation. I have been trying to get my pain specialist to find a fix or my PCP for 2 yrs. Then last June in the same week I was told by my pain specialist that I’d be in pain for the rest of my life and I needed to find a way to deal with that! I cried all the way home. Here’s the kicker, she never said I had FSM. A few days later I saw my PCP and she said that she feels that it’s Fibromyalgia and she wanted me to see additional doctors. She’s out of her area of expertise and wants to consult with several specialists. So after a horrible week at work and the doctor’s office I went online and found these centers and reseached their research. Seems like the facts support the outcome.
After meeting with the doctor, who listened to me, gave me eye contact, respect and respond emotionally to what I was saying about where, when, how often and how much I hurt, I agreed to accept the offer of a complementary treatment today. They treated from my neck (about C4 to my tailbone) for about 40 minutes. When I told the doctor that I felt it only in my mid to upper back, neck and shoulders, he has the patches moved and continued treatment for another 20mins. It’s hard to put into words how and what I was feeling but I was feeling very little pain. I could bend at the waist and wiggle my hips when I walked. I even tried to get my husband to dip me…no luck there!
The pain stayed at that level for just over 9hrs. Now, it’s almost completely back to where I was…but I’m seriously considering doing the 24 treatments over a 12 week period with 3 additional follow ups 3 months apart. Has anyone else every done this or anything similar?
The light at the end of the tunnel is back…
