Has anyone ever had eye pain? Or, more specifically, eyeball pain? This is a relatively new symptom for me. One of my eyeballs will hurt. It really aches! Then my forehead will start to ache. Then my whole head aches and the eyeball pain sometimes goes away. I’ve even had half of an eyeball have pain. But it usually leads to a headache. The eye pain can last a few hours and so can the headache. Ibuprofen and Tylenol do not help in any way. Rarely do both eyeballs have pain at the same time.
An eye doc could check if the headache is coming from the eyes. But it may well be something like a cluster headache or ocular migraine, that might be something for a neurologist. When I had something like this decades ago, it helped to take tiny (100mg) aspirins before the pain started - once it’s got going, it’s like an oil tanker. An alternative health practitioner thought it was trigeminal, a neurologist recently thought cluster headache. Since I still have itchy and sometimes achey eyebrows from stress I personally still tend to the former until I am corrected.
I have that same problem. They found that I have a meningioma behind my left eye. It’s wrapped around my optic nerve and carotid artery of my left eye. I had radiation therapy done in 2002. It’s still there. Just hardly any growth. Was having MRI every. Year for first 10 years , then they stopped. I just always thought the pain was from that. Maybe it too is from the fibro.
Hi there, Uffta -
or: “Maybe it is from the fibro too”…
I guess knowing there was something found there makes it easier to take it as it is or work around it. My acupressurist long seemed to know almost no limits for a year now, but sleep, Ache & energy high but time limited remain. If I’d had this I bet she cdn’t help there much either.
I have had pain in only my right eye. Then it went away and I had pain in only the right half of my nose, then the right half of my tongue, etc. and the pain jumped around. This is classic Fibro and unless it continues hurting long term I wouldn’t be too worried about it. It is a strange illness and the Drs have no idea.
Hi Uffta and Michael1 ! And JayCS too! I see that both of you have been away from this site for awhile. Welcome back! I had an MRI about 8 months ago. Everything looked ok. But I didn’t have eye pain back then. Interesting to hear about random right eye, nose and tongue pain. Did you ever see a doctor about that? I pain is so different than other types of pain. And you can’t dig your finger into your eye to massage it. Fibromyalgia manifests itself in soooooo many ways. I actually wish they would find out all my symptoms were related to something else, even if it’s terminal. I’m tired of being misunderstood and minimized about my symptoms.
Now I’ve deciphered “natural path”, I’ve realized you’ve voice-to-texted “eye pain” here…
Yeah, that’s what I meant regarding acupressure, but forgot to add that craniosacral osteopathy treats the head muscles and I often came out with better focused eyesight, so I’m not at all sure that an expert might not be able to massage around the eye.
I agree, but the better trained physios do, I’ve experienced.
Sorry but no matter what pain of the day I have, I would still prefer a negative test result than a devastating finding, although it would be nice to figure out why I get pain everywhere for no obvious reason. Unfortunately the Drs don’t know a lot sometimes. Drs. have no idea why I would have pain on the right side of my entire body. Tests show nothing.
I see an eye Dr once a year to get checked out and there were no obvious issues.
Just another day with Fibromyalgia.
Everything on my right side hurts at times. Literally the right side of every part of my body.
Every test in the world has shown nothing.
Then it disappears. Then I have the typical Fibro pain in left and right tender points.
I just move on and keep going. I have learned to live with pain and apparently a weird body.
