"There is a positive side, and a negative side; at each moment you decide"

I wanted to share a good book with all of you, if you are interested. It's called "Happiness: It's your choice" by Gary Applegate.

Welcome Marie and Julie,

I hope you both enjoy being in this group, as a gratitude attitude can really lift your mind, body and soul..  It's a different way at our outlook on life and trying to see your glass always half full, instead of half empty..  I now prefer to call my glass overflowing, as this attitude is a practise in all situations we find ourselves in..    It would be lovely to see some more of your posts and again, we are all here if you need any help..

I'm new here. I thought this would be a good group to join because I get so depressed I realize I need to start looking at life with an attitude of gratitude instead of letting myillnesses bring me down. I hope you all dont mind me posting here often cause I really like the idea of this group.

Well, I'll be blowed! Sheila, it was so nice to read this poem and it's not really your's..?

But seriously, it read very true and even if it wasn't from your own pen, it is still a lovely peace of poetry indeed.

Thanks again for the information you posted as I now have a New Zealand Health Shop I can order these through now.. They got me a ten pack of the toe pad warmers and I'm very impressed.  They seem to heat instantly and hold there warmth for around 5 - 6 hours.. As it's summer here I'm hoping the shop might do me a good deal as I would probably buy at least 50 or 100 pair pack..

Hope your health is doing better as when I last communicated you weren't doing that well.. I'm loving the summer weather as the sun shining on your bare hands can do wonders to the mind again.. My poor feet are still frozen but I will just have to live with this, as it's not that many Raynaud's suffers get to completely get all their bodies all thawed out at the same time..  I'll need to leave you now Sheila as I need to go and have my afternoon meds.. Take care Sheila - Mike

I didn't write it Mike. It was sent to me, author unknown. i used to love poetry and was American Poet of the year 1984, I got to do guest readings in some great places that year. It seemed funny to me because I was a Canadian living in America, not a true American. I'm glad you enjoyed the quotes as I do, I hope you are not too upset with me regarding the research I did for you again about where to buy foot and hand warmers.

Best wishes,

Sheila

That's very well thought out Sheila, you must like poetry as you put this so eloquently...   Well done..!

A reason to be thankful for your tough life experiences:

"I am strong because I know weakness.
I am compassionate because I have experienced suffering.
I am alive because I am a fighter.
I am wise because I have been foolish.
I can laugh because I have known sadness.
I can love because I have known loss."

I am a Christian man and believe my faith has helped me tremendously through genuine prayer and living a thankful lifestyle. But I do confess I struggle with haunting depression. I practise in the power of positive thinking and my glass is never half empty but I see it now always overflowing. Having a Gratitude Attitude is another good way to stay healthy in mind body and soul, plus with friends that see life as a blessing is helpful and comforting.

In being a member of this group I hope to support other members with a Gratitude Attitude.
