I am just getting over a nasty sinus infection that my doctor said was just allergies and I ended up in Urgent Care over the weekend. Got antibiotics there. So am starting to feel better there. But, laying around with my eyes closed -so much sinus pain I couldn't open them - kicked up the Fibro pain. At this point I am actually afraid to call my clinic because every time I go there it is a bad experience. When I went for the sinus infection I was told "getting sick is part of the human condition. You don't need antibiotics". This before the doc even examined me. So I'm looking for a new doctor but am afraid I will only find frustration. Then I get on here and I wander around reading others posts and don't know what to do. So I'm trying this. Just saying where I'm at and asking. How do you deal with past negative experiences with doctors so it doesn't color all future relationships with doctors? And how do you deal with the "I'm sick and need to sleep but it will kick up the Fibro pain"? Not that I can sleep well even when I'm sick.

Permalink Reply by Hopabout on February 22, 2012 at 6:31pm I think each month I have some ill response from some doc, and I have learned to stop and pray for them. The majority are quite helpless. They learn things like Xrays - well no, they have to have those read for them, and like Chemistry and how to write the Rx... well no, they have those little people with the black briefcase brining them the samples and probably how to write the script too. The nurses take your bp and temp so I am not real sure what they are good for... but we cant do without them, can we.
Today I went to a great allergy specialist. He was so nice. But even though he was cute as can be and very nice he told me my problem needed to be with dermatology. But Doc she said I have bad blood and gave me stuff to cover up the problem with no clue as to why it was happening. (have some blisters on my scalp) so I am not to fond of the detmatologist at all. I have bad blood.... so I am just doomed.
He is running a pannel of tests which is way more than she did.
We have to deal with one thing at a time. If you have asinus infection, life is gonna be &*()& tell you get over it so deal with it and hope it ends. Then, with winter upon you, Fibros gonna kick you in the butt anyway so just go to sleep and try as hard as you can.
When I do sleep, I rub icy hot on things that can hurt and wrap up good in something that holds my muscles tight and that helps a lot. I drink a cup of apple cider vinegar tea before I go to sleep then hope it will help when I wake up.
One thing at a time, I hope you feel better soon. Pray for the lame docs. It helps.

I hadn't thought to wrap up in something. I do use icy hot. I'll try the wrapping up. You're right. Sinus infection is just going to make things crap until it's gone. It is better the last day or so. It just gets so tiring you know? One thing after another all the time. I try hard. Really hard. And I will keep trying.
I hope you get somewhere with your allergy stuff.
Permalink Reply by Hopabout on February 23, 2012 at 4:09pm On to the magniture of testing... Oh i was allergic to dead cockroaches but that is a fibro thing with Oleamide... interesting, so is my daughter. And pork, no no not pork. Will do some back patch thing first week in March but he does not think the blisters on my scalp are allergies. ugggg.... here we go again. Thanks
Permalink Reply by SarahW on February 25, 2012 at 8:59am Oh good luck with all the testing! I am allergic to dead cockroaches too. i didn't know that was a Fibro thing.
Permalink Reply by Hopabout on February 25, 2012 at 7:22pm Little lovely word called Oleamide. Its why we can't sleep. And, dead cockroaches give it off so others don't come eat them. Nice prior thinking ! That and anandamide.... not good words in fibro vocabulary.
Sarah it makes me wonder if we are actually allergic to Oleamide... which would make very good sense.
Allergic to what should be making us sleep. ugggg
