FMS Awareness Quest on Foot and Bicycle 1,786 miles, Please Read!

Hey Everyone, Thank you for being there. This is a great group for people who are in need of some great Fibro related info so before I begin I just wanted you to all to know that.

My name is Shannon Rizzotto I am from NYC but currently and for the last two years I have lived in Vermont. About a year ago, I was diagnosed with FMS, after having had various Doctor's tell me I might have had it fot the four years prior. I always knew I had some serious pain issues but I had always associated them with my Construction job as I was a stone mason.

Now, things are a little tough as I have taken various medications for the Fibro which seems to affect me often but I try my best to maintain it. Recently, and after a long winter here in Vermont full of everyday FMS related pain I decided to not let the FMS run my life.

As of April 1st, 2011, I will be embarking on a 1,768 mile quest from Northfield, VT to Cape Canaveral, FL called Shannon's Quest to Florida and the community page is located on Facebook. That is where I met Ben. This quest is to raise awareness for FMS and to let the world know that, yes we who have it can overcome and we can support each other through it. This trip is powered by people just like you. It will take me about 22 days I figure to complete this quest.

I have not been asking for donations though people have offered to pay for the day to day expenses of the trip and I have found many people along my planned path who have offered many things like a place to stay for a night, to wash my cloths, feed me, etc... which I have to say is amazing.

A friend of mine named Michelle who owns the website www.hopeinbracelets.com has offered to send me some of her creations to give to people along my quest who suffer our condition, to make their day a bit brighter and to let them know "WE" are here to support each other.

I have contacted many different bicycle companies here in Vermont and the USA and though this cause is just they have all turned me down for a quality road bike donation as I do not currently have one that will make this trip or a carriage for the back to haul my belongings. I will keep plugging away though on this because I feel this is worth every moment we spend with it.
